Netlify hosting (global network, SSL included) is free up to 100 messages/month, more than enough at this level of traffic. The domain name (approx. €10/year) and professional email (free with Zoho, approx. €7-8/month with Google Workspace) are in your name and paid directly by you to the provider: you own them, no middleman. With the "domain + pro email" pack, I handle the whole purchase and setup.
WordPress is still a solid tool, but it needs ongoing maintenance (security updates, plugins) and adds technical overhead for a simple showcase site. What I build is lighter, faster to load, and free of WordPress's usual security vulnerabilities. The honest trade-off: without an added CMS, you won't edit the content yourself afterward, as explained above.
Native HTML, CSS and JavaScript: no proprietary framework, no platform locking you in.
